Finally

Finally got a chance to figure all this out. Its been a while since the last post. Here goes.
So far this year(2010), fishing has been good. We've seen some of the warmest temps. on record.
The bass have been sent deep. Block Island seems to be the best bet. Sea bass and scup are decent on the hard. Fluking was good but has slowed. The boat did win a few divisions in the first annual Goat Island Shootout. A great tournament to benefit cystic fibrosis. We had a 7.2 and a 6 .8. All caught locally. Also a bluefish that I think tipped the scales at 9lbs. That gave us largest fluke, best father-son combined and largest blue. A great day with a great ending.
The game now seems to have shifted offshore. If you're interested in pelagics, nows the time.
I went with a buddy last Tuesday and saw loads of marine life on the edge. Huge rays jumping out of the water, whale sharks, whales, marlin free jumping, like an aquarium. We saw 83 degrees in 1300 feet of water. We did manage to boat 4 yellowfin tuna around 70lbs. We also had loads of mahi under the lobster gear and what we think was a huge marlin peel 1/2 spool in about 4 seconds. So, if you're into a long ride, nows the time when the weather cooperates.
